Hey Everybody!

My name is Kaitlin Woodworth and I am a graduate student at Appalachian State University currently finishing up my Masters degree in Reading Education!

What I LOVE:

• Reading! Some of my favorite books growing up included “A Series of Unfortunate Events”, “The Boxcar Children”, “Magic Tree House”, and “My Side of the Mountain”. Now that I am older, some of my favorite authors are David Baldacci and Liane Moriarty. Sometimes I stay up wayy too late because I can’t put down a good book!

 

 

• My family! I grew up in big family and I am lucky to say that I have many people who love me back. My mom and step dad live in Charlotte, where I grew up, with my half brothers Robert and Christopher who are twins! My dad and step mom live in Fort Collins, Colorado with my half brother Jake. All three of my brothers are ten years younger than me and it is wonderful watching them grow up into great young men. I have grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many close friends that are basically family as well!

 

• The outdoors! I have grown up backpacking, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and whitewater rafting. A few summers ago I went to live with my dad in Colorado until school started back up. We went and hiked a few mountains that were over 14,000 feet above sea level (the locals call them 14’ers). My favorite season is winter because I love cold weather and especially snow. I think it is so beautiful when snow sticks onto tree limbs and the grass. This image is from the big snow storm we had in December of 2018!

• Church! I absolutely love the church that I found a few years ago during my undergraduate studies. I grew up going to a Presbyterian church in downtown Charlotte and I ended up visiting a Baptist church that I loved. When I moved up to Boone for school it took me a little while to find one where I felt like I belonged. I started going to Perkinsville Baptist Church about two years ago and even got Baptized again last fall!

What I LOOK like:

• Tall (I’m about 5’9″)
• Brown hair (sometimes I add blonde highlights though)
• Blue-Green eyes (they change color depending on what I wear)
• Athletic build

How I ACT:

• Goofy; Sometimes I act like a big kid especially when I am around my friends
• Hungry; I love food and I need food so when I am hungry sometimes I get cranky
• Grateful; I have so much to be thankful for in my life so I try to always be appreciative of everything that I have
• Interested; I am always interested in learning new things. A saying in my family growing up was “You learn something new everyday”
• Encouraging; I always try to encourage those around me and let them know that they are important

If I can leave one mark on everyone that I come in contact with, it would be to have confidence in everything that they do.
